So sorry about the first email. I don’t even know what happened. I pressed the space bar and all of a sudden it was saying “sending.” I don’t know. Whatever.
This week was interesting though. We got to have interviews with our Mission President. That was awesome, my favorite part was the bicycle training we had from the assistants. Really. It was great. I suggest if you can try to find the video for it. It was pretty much 1000 Ways to Die for missionaries. LOVEEE.
Oh I should probably explain the title a little. You see. I have a cold. Which is always fun. And I was singing in the choir/playing the flute. So I felt like Phoebe from Friends when she gets sick and sings funny because of it. That’s all.
But yes. It was yet again another chaos-Sunday. One ward with the flute another ward with a talk. All the while being fuzzy-brained from the cold medicine. Yeah buddy.
I’m kind of all over the place today aren’t I? I should probably figure things out in order of events. Oh well. You can figure it out, if not, that’s okay too.
This week my companion and I went on exchanges with our Sister Training Leaders. I went to their area. Sister Dearden has Bag Balm. So I took a picture with it because apparently I don’t take enough photos and just taking a picture of the can would be weird. But taking a selfie with the utter-cream-stuff? Completely normal.
I don’t know either.
Another day my normal companion and I went to dinner with some members (because that’s what we do) and we had dinner with the fiancee for Elder Walkenhorst from The District. Ohhh yeahh! You remember that elder right? The one that was a greenie? His companion told him to teach that one guy on the street the Restoration and he said “what.”
(fun fact: He didn’t say what because he didn’t know how to teach apparently. He said it because he couldn’t hear.)
But we got to hear the story of how he purposed. It’s really kind of confusing if you ask me but that’s okay. But the story is that the sister just got home from her mission. And I mean JUST GOT HOME. Less than 10 hours kind of thing. She and her mom had a little spa thing or something. Then she came home without makeup because the spa. But he was already there. In the basement. Waiting. But did he purpose right away? Nope. nope. He wanted to let her put makeup on so she would look good for pictures and stuff. Good kid. But she had no idea he was there. Just that she was going to be seeing him soon. So he waited in the basement for about two hours. I couldn’t help but think of the CLASSSSSIC Chris Farly skit as Matt Foley when the dad says, “Okay, his name is Matt Foley. Now, he’s been down in the basement drinking coffee for about the last four hours, and he should be all ready to go.” Really. But once she was mostly ready he didn’t just come up from the basement. He snuck out the house and then came to the door. And her dad answered. Because she wasn’t ready yet. Awkward. But then she came down the stairs and then he purposed. Kind of. He never really asked. He just got on his knee and then she said yes.
I thought it was hilarious.
I was reading the the Bible Dictionary for Easter and apparently it comes from “Eastre” a Norse god. I was shocked and amused and I thought about Thor and Loki. Oops.
On Saturday we were able to help out at an Easter Egg hunt for children with disabilities. That was fun. I got a free shirt. And a picture with the Chik-fil-a cow.
Then we did more service at the ranch. My pony is the best pony. Little Bentley. Yayy!
But our Easter was great with the flute and talks. I cut up some cucumbers for dinner and made one into a little butterfly.
I’m practically a real blogger now. Pictures of food. Check. Yesssss. But isn’t it cute? I was pretty proud of it. No one ate it. I figure it’s because it was too cute. Oops.
The Easter Bunny did find me though. I have so much candy! I’m glad I’m an adult.
That’s pretty much my week. Have a great week y’all. I’m not sure what else to tell you. I love you and expect y’all to write back though. Have a great week.
OH! Okay. So not so much a quote this week but a thought that I got a while back from my “son” Elder Polly. Lets take a look first in Genesis chapter one…
4. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
10. And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it wasgood.
12.And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
But now lets turn to Doctrine and Covenants section 18…
10. Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God;
“Who are we? We are children of God. Our potential is unlimited. Our inheritance is sacred.”
M. Russell Ballard
We are His children. Of all of His creations, we are His greatest. He loves us and He knows us by name. We are not just a stranger to Him for we are His spirit children.
I love being a missionary and I love the brothers and sisters I have met while serving our Father to help bring my siblings to Him. Have a great week everyone!
